  • NHS plans to close Grindon Lane a disgrace!!!

    If the plans are true, then this is an absolute disgrace. When will this crazy cutting regime ever end? The centre in Houghton, where they are supposed to transfer the patients to is allegedly turning people away already, so how will they cope with the influx. Why build these fantastic facilities and then decide they can't afford to run them?

  • Belmont library faces opening hours cut

    What a disgrace. Governments and councils bleat on about educating children and keeping them off the streets an computer games, yet they are planning to cut the hours of this highly used library by over 50%. They should be ashamed of themselves and do the decent thing and have a change of heart.

  • Well done Barnes Park

    Have just read that Barnes Park has picked up a Bronze site status in the Considerate Constructors Scheme Awards 2012. It cost a hell of a lot for the regeneration (£3.6M), but it has been well worth it. It is now a fantastic place for families and people of all ages.
